Information and Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English Language), or equivalent qualifications at the appropriate level. You will also need to attend an interview at College.

How do I Apply?

Once you have decided which A Levels to do, you can apply by doing one of the following:

A Level

Law

You will learn to interpret, evaluate and apply legal rules. You will develop critical thinking skills and you will be encouraged to analyse the changing dynamics of modern law.

This course is suitable for students who enjoy:

Year 1 (AS Level)


Unit 1: Law Making and the Legal System
There will be a 1 hour and 30 minutes examination. You will be required to answer three questions from a choice of eight.

Unit 2: The Concept of Liability
There will be a 1 hour and 30 minutes examination. You will be required to answer two questions from a choice of three.

Year 2 (A2 Level)


Unit 3: Criminal Law
There will be a 1 hour and 30 minutes examination. You will be required to answer one three-part question.

Unit 4: Tort and Concepts of Law
There will be a 2 hour examination. You will be required to answer one two-part question and an essay.

Future Options


You can apply to do a degree in a wide range of subjects, such as law, journalism, English, media, communication studies and forensics. Study at AS/A2 level provides a useful background for the further study of law either as the main subject or subsidiary part of a degree or for the many professional qualifications which have a law component. The subject is also useful for those students who wish to pursue a career in law as a solicitor, barrister or para-legal.
