Information and Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English Language and Maths), or equivalent qualifications at the appropriate level. You will also need to attend an interview at College.

How do I Apply?

Once you have decided which A Levels to do, you can apply by doing one of the following:

A Level

Business Studies

This course encourages candidates to acquire a range of important and transferable skills, which include:

Year 1 (AS Level)


Unit 1: Planning and Financing a Business
There will be a 1 hour and 15 minutes examination. You will be required to do short answer questions and extended responses based on a mini case study.

Unit 2: Managing a Business
There will be a 1 hour and 30 minutes examination. You will be required to answer multi-part data response questions.

Year 2 (A2 Level)


Unit 3: Strategies for Success
There will be a 1 hour and 45 minutes examination. You will be required to answer questions using extended answers based on an unseen case study drawing upon knowledge from AS units.

Unit 4: The Business Environment and Managing Change
There will be a 1 hour and 45 minutes examination. You will be required to look at pre-release research tasks leading to the first section of a two section examination. The second section will consist of a choice of essays. All questions will be essay style and synoptic, therefore drawing upon knowledge from all four units.

Future Options


You can apply to do a degree in a wide range of subjects, such as Business Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Communication Studies. You can also apply for a job with training in the public and voluntary sectors.
